As this year has been progressing, some of my fellow Rotary Scholars and I have decided to adopt a cause in South Africa. Katharina, Christopher, Mary, and I have decided to run the Soweto Marathon on November 1 to raise money and awareness for the Khulanathi Music Project in the township of Daveyton, which is about 45 minutes away from where we live in Johannesburg. We became aware of this project through some Rotarian friends at the Benoni Aurora club. The music project does amazing work with the township children, sacrificing every Saturday to teach disadvantaged children how to read and play music. The project has no way to make money for the purposes of improving the program and expanding to reach more children. So we want to help! We are asking that you all consider supporting the Khulanathi Music Project by making a donation through our website (listed below).
